Recently Mumtaz talked about the downfall of Rajesh Khanna’s career. She told how the graph of Rajesh Khanna’s career kept falling down.
Speaking to Rediff, Mumtaz said that Rajesh Khanna’s career downfall was not entirely his fault. ‘We stars are because of your love. Without your love, we are nothing. It was not entirely Rajesh Khanna’s fault.

Mumtaz further said- When he was as fabulous as ever, my bungalow was very close to his house. I have seen big directors and producers roaming around like his sycophants. His girlfriend Anju Mahendru used to be the host. She used to serve food and drinks till 3 in the night. I have seen this at Shammi Kapoor’s house too.

Mumtaz criticized the sycophancy of directors. She praised Sanjay Leela Bhansali for maintaining distance from everyone. She said, he does his work, treats his actors with respect and goes home. You are paying the actors. Why do you need to sycophancy towards them?

When Mumtaz was asked about her comeback, she said- I have got an offer and a huge amount of money to write my story. I will do it when I am ready. Even when I return to acting, it should be something worthy of me.
