Mustard greens are eaten with great relish along with corn and manduwa roti. To make mustard greens, a special hill method is adopted in the mountains. Mountain people often sow mustard in wheat fields. So that this mustard becomes edible till winter.

How is it prepared?
Geeta Rawal, a skilled housewife from Bageshwar, told Local 18 that to make mustard greens, wash the mustard leaves thoroughly with water two-three times. Cut the leaves roughly. Boil chopped leaves in hot water. When the leaves are boiled well, grind them finely in a mortar and pestle. Now heat mustard oil in an iron pan and season it with asafoetida, garlic and red chilli.

The more you cook, the more taste you get
Later fry chopped onion and tomato. Add turmeric, chilli, coriander powder and cook well. To make the saag thick and tasty, roasted manduva or wheat flour is added. Now add the ground greens to the pan and mix well. By making it like this, the taste of the vegetable will become even more delicious. If you want, you can also add juice of hemp seeds in it. Let the greens cook well for ten to fifteen minutes and now serve with rice and roti. Believe me, your family members will keep licking their fingers.
