The Egyptian pyramids are more of a mystery than a wonder. For hundreds of years, scientists have not been able to find out many questions related to the pyramids. In this, what was the purpose behind building the pyramids? How were such huge and heavy stones transported to the construction site for the pyramids? Questions like. But a new study claims that the mystery of the pyramids has finally been solved, as researchers have discovered something special near one of the structures.
Scientists believe that the intention would have been to build the Wonders of the World on a beautiful strip along the western bank of the Nile River. The news comes after the discovery of a shocking L-shaped structure, which is believed to be a hidden cemetery.
The location of the pyramids has long been a cause of great trouble for researchers. But officials at the University of North Carolina Wilmington think they may have discovered why they were built a full five miles from water.
Scientists were surprised as to how these rocks could have been transported to the designated place, which seems a very difficult task for today’s technology. (Symbolic photo: Canva)
There are 31 pyramids in total, which run parallel to but at some distance from the Nile River. Now, new research suggests that they may have been built along a 64 km separate section of the river that originates from the main stream. This claim came as part of an analysis of both soil samples and satellite images. It points to a body of water named Ahramat. It no longer exists.
Now Published in Nature Communications “Many pyramids in the Old and Middle Kingdoms have drains that branch off and end at valley temples that may have served as river ports along it in the past,” the study researchers wrote.
Researchers have suggested that the Ahramate branch may have played a role in the construction of the monuments and was used as a transportation waterway for laborers and construction materials to the pyramid sites. The research produces the first map of one of the main ancient branches of the Nile River. on a large scale and connects it to the largest pyramid areas of Egypt”.
