Police are investigating the case by questioning his wife. The deceased has been identified as Mitisunep Aukathula (45), a resident of Nagaland.

On Monday afternoon, a jawan of Nagaland Arms Force jumped into Naini lake in Model Town under suspicious circumstances. He was sitting and talking with his wife near the lake. Seeing her husband drowning, his wife raised an alarm. Divers who reached the spot took him out after a lot of effort. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. Police have recovered his clothes and slippers from the spot.
