On 17 January 2018, 8-year-old Asifa was raped and killed in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir. She was given intoxicants before the incident. This heartbreaking incident remained in the media headlines for many years. When Naisha was studying in class 3 (now in class 5) in Green Field School in Alaknanda, Delhi, the teacher told her about bad touch. Naisha’s mother Ambika Sharma told that Naisha was also told about the incident in Jammu and Kashmir, then she came home and asked only one question that can’t we girls oppose such people. On this, the mother said that we can do it but it requires hard work.

I had reached the Taekwondo center by mistake

Naisha was ready to do anything to teach such cruel people a lesson. Her mother took her to learn Karate, but she mistakenly reached a coaching centre in the mini market of Kalkaji DDA flats. This centre was not for Judo-Karate, but for Taekwondo. Naisha asked the coach whether she could learn Judo, Karate or Taekwondo to fight better than others. When the coach said that Taekwondo would give her more strength, the girl started learning Taekwondo.

Won more than 27 medals

Ayesha has won 22 gold, two silver and three brown in two years so far. Training under the guidance of coach Mohammad Salamuddin at the Delhi Taekwondo Sports Club, Naisha has achieved great achievements in just two years. Naisha is a two-time state medalist (2023/2024). She won the National Silver Medal in 2023 and recently captured the CBSE Central Zone Gold Medal in 2024. Her latest achievement was winning the gold medal in the Under-14 Girls Under-26 kg category. This Masool qualified for the National Championship to be held in Uttarakhand from 9 to 14 September.

All girls should take training

While talking to Amar Ujala correspondent, Naisha told that a school teacher told her about bad touch and good touch. When she asked madam about bad touch, she got upset. After this, the thought of fighting such people came to her mind. This girl of barely 10 years says that not only in Delhi but in the country every girl should take self-defense training. Also, they should learn Judo and Karate. Naisha’s family belongs to the middle class. Her father is in a private job. Naisha says that she is preparing to give her best in the Nationals.
