A young man riding a bike died after being hit by a brick-laden tractor on the Bihta-Sarmera two-lane in Nalanda on Sunday. While another was seriously injured. The deceased has been identified as Jairam Paswan (34), son of Shatrughan Prasad, a resident of Mamkharabad village in the Pandarak police station area of Patna district. While the injured youth is Ashish Kumar, a friend of Jairam Paswan. Jairam Paswan had come to his in-laws’ house in Muzaffarpur village in the Noorsarai police station area.
Regarding the incident, the family of the deceased said that Jairam Paswan had gone with his friend Ashish Kumar on his bike to have tea at Chauhan turn in the morning. After having tea, both of them were returning to their in-laws’ house. Meanwhile, an uncontrolled tractor loaded with bricks crushed them near Charuipar and Muzaffarpur village. Jairam Paswan died on the spot in this accident. While the injured Ashish Kumar was admitted to Nursarai Primary Health Center for treatment. From where he was referred to a higher center for better treatment.
Villagers, angry with the death in the road accident, blocked the road by placing the body on the road. Due to this, a long queue of vehicles was formed on both sides of the road. The situation of road jam continued for about an hour. On receiving the information of death in the road accident and jam, the police reached the spot and pacified the matter by convincing the angry family members. The police sent the body to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
Meanwhile, Noorsarai police station chief Rajneesh Kumar said that the police has seized the tractor and started taking action. The body has been handed over to the family after post-mortem. Further action will be taken after receiving the application.
