India G20 Presidency: Prime Minister Modi held a meeting through video conferencing with Governors, Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories to discuss aspects related to India’s G-20 chairmanship.

In a meeting with Governors, Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors, Prime Minister Modi said, “India has got the presidency of the G-20 for the whole country. This is an opportunity to showcase the strength of the country.” At the same time, he emphasized the importance of ‘teamwork’. Also sought cooperation from states and union territories in organizing various programs of G-20.

Why is it important?
PM Modi said that during India’s G-20 presidency, many people will come to India and the focus of the international media will be on our country. He said that in such a situation, the union territories and states will have a chance to take advantage of this opportunity to establish themselves as a good place for business, to attract investment and as a tourism destination.

Along with this, PM Modi said that efforts should be made to get the people of the society to participate in the events related to G-20. CMs, governors and lieutenant governors of many states gave ideas during the meeting. In the meeting, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar also gave a presentation.
