Projects worth Rs 41 thousand crore started
On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that India is working today at unprecedented speed and on a large scale. Referring to the programs in Jammu and Gujarat, he said that a lot of work is also being done in the infrastructure of education and health sectors. Even today, 550 railway stations are being renovated in 300 districts of 12 states. The Prime Minister said that projects worth about Rs 41 thousand crore have been started. Congratulating the youth power of India for this, he said that these projects will create employment and self-employment opportunities for lakhs of youth. This will also benefit the students studying in schools.
Amrit Bharat station will be a symbol of development and heritage
Prime Minister Modi expressed happiness that these Amrit Bharat stations will be a symbol of development and heritage. He pointed out that Balasore railway station in Odisha has Lord Jagannath temple, Rangpur in Sikkim has vernacular architecture, Sangner station in Rajasthan has 16th century hand-block printing, Kumbakonam station in Tamil Nadu has Chola influence, Ahmedabad station has Modhera Sun temple, Dwarka station has Dwarkadhish temple and IT City Gurugram station will be based on IT theme. Amrit Bharat Station will introduce the specialties of that city to the world. All these stations will be friendly for the disabled and senior citizens.
Railways changed in 10 years
PM Modi said that many changes have taken place in the Railways in the last 10 years. He cited examples of modern semi-high-speed trains like Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat, Namo Bharat, fast pace of electrification of railway lines and cleanliness inside trains and on station platforms. Railway overbridges and underpasses have ensured uninterrupted and accident-free movement. Modern facilities like airports are also being provided to the poor and middle class at railway stations.
Budget increased more than 5 times in 10 years
India’s economy has moved from 11th to 5th position. Railway budget has also become Rs 2.5 lakh crore today compared to Rs 45 thousand crore 10 years ago. He said that just imagine, how much our strength will increase when we become the third largest economic superpower in the world. Today scams are not happening so money is also being saved. With this money, along with laying new lines, work is being done to extend the railways from Jammu and Kashmir to the North-East. PM Modi also talked about the ‘One Station One Product’ programme.
