According to the report of the Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Karnataka doubled the production of flowers to 1,71,880 tonnes in 2022, which is much more than 76,910 tonnes in 2018. Reports show that the Dutch rose of Bangalore is very popular. A large part of the roses going abroad from all over the country is also from Karnataka. 15 to 28 degree temperature is good for rose cultivation. For its cultivation, the pH value of the soil should be between 6 to 7.5. Sandy loam soil is best for growing roses. Plant it in rows, keep a distance of 2-3 feet between the plants.

The right time to cut roses is when their petals are bright in colour. The next year, rose farms produce good amount of flowers. Good flowers start blooming after pruning them in the month of March. After cutting roses, the flowers should be put in water and kept in cold storage.
