Navratri fast is for 9 days so know what to eat and what not to eat


Chaitra Navratri Diet: Chaitra Navratri has started. In this festival which lasts till 17th April, many devotees of Mata Rani keep fast for 9 days. Eat fruits during this period. However, many people do not know the correct rules of eating during fasting (Chaitra Navratri Fasting Diet Rules), due to which they eat anything, which can be harmful for their health. Therefore, those fasting for 9 days of Navratri should know what to eat and what not to eat during the fast.

What should be eaten during Navratri fast?

1. You can eat puris, parathas, pakodas, halwa made from water chestnut flour.

2. Khichdi made of buckwheat flour, pakodas, halwa, puri-paratha.

3. Halwa, Puri-Paratha or other dish made from Rajgira flour

4. Uttapam, Idli, Dosa or Puri made from Sama rice flour

5. You can eat spices like cumin or cumin powder, black pepper or black powder, rock salt, green cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, anardana, ginger, green chilli, lemon, celery, green coriander, mint.

6. Some people use spices like curry leaves, dry mango powder, chaat masala, red chilli powder and some people do not. In such a situation, if you are using it, then definitely take advice from elders.

7. During the fast, anything made from vegetables like potato, tomato, pumpkin, sweet potato, raw banana, papaya, spinach, gourd, carrot, taro and yam is also used.

8. Sabudana, makhana, dry fruits, things made from pal are also consumed.

9. Anything made from milk

10. Coconut fruits or anything made from it

What is not eaten during Navratri fast

1. Avoid onion and garlic.

2. Do not eat pulses and beans.

3. Do not use common salt.

4. Spices like turmeric, asafoetida, mustard, fenugreek seeds, garam masala and coriander powder

5. One should not drink coffee during fasting.

6. Do not eat market ice cream

7. Avoid corn, corn starch, corn flour, oats, flax seeds, chia seeds

8. Any oil made from seeds like sunflower oil

9. Rice and rice flour, wheat flour, maida, semolina, gram flour

10. Avoid alcohol, non-veg, eggs, smoking.
