Kanker Naxal Encounter: In a police-Naxalite encounter on Wednesday on the border of Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, Maharashtra’s special force C-60 commandos killed 12 Naxalites. Although the identity of the killed Naxalites has not been ascertained yet, the soldiers have recovered 7 automatic weapons from the spot. Among these, the soldiers have recovered three AK-47, two INSAS and one carbine along with one SLR.
Apart from this, a large amount of Naxal explosives and daily use items have also been recovered from the spot. In this encounter, C-60 Commando Sub-Inspector Satish Patil has been shot in the left shoulder, due to which he has been badly injured. He has been taken from the police camp of Kanker district to Banda camp of Gadchiroli in Maharashtra with the help of a helicopter. At present, the life of the soldier is said to be out of danger.
Encounter between soldiers and Tipagarh Naxalite Dal
Giving information, Bastar IG Sundarraj P said that on Wednesday morning around 10:00, Maharashtra’s Special Force C-60 Commando from Gadchiroli, led by DSP, had a face-off between the jawans and the Naxals in the forest between Chhindbhatti and PV-82 in Jharwandi area on the border of Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.
A large number of Naxalites were already lying in ambush here. After this, the Naxalites started firing on the soldiers. In the firing by the Naxalites, C-60 Commando’s Deputy Inspector Satish Patil was shot in the shoulder, due to which he got injured. After this, the soldiers immediately took charge and fired continuously on the Naxalites. In the encounter that lasted for about three to four hours, the soldiers killed 12 Naxalites.
The Naxalites killed may have a bounty of lakhs of rupees on them
After the encounter ended, during the search, the soldiers recovered the bodies of all 12 Naxalites. The IG said that the police of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh received information that the Maoist organization’s DVCM commander Laxman, Vishal and Tipagarh Naxalite Dalam were present in this area. After this, a search operation was conducted by C-60 commandos from Maharashtra.
Also, the DRG team conducted an operation in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh, where an encounter took place between C-60 commandos of Maharashtra and Naxalites. IG Sundarraj said that the way 7 automatic weapons have been recovered from the spot, it is being estimated that all the Naxalites killed are big Naxalite leaders and have a bounty of lakhs of rupees on their heads.
The injured sub-inspector was referred to Nagpur
At present, the police of Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra are engaged in identifying the killed Naxalites. Meanwhile, Sub Inspector Satish Patil, who was injured in this encounter, was immediately brought to the police camp in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh bordering Maharashtra and from here he was taken to Banda in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra with the help of a helicopter. He has been referred to Nagpur, where his treatment is going on.
IG says that at present a search operation will be conducted in this area on Thursday morning. The soldiers claim that many more Naxalites have been shot in this temple and a large number of Naxalites have been injured.
