NEET UG 2024 cancellation and 38 other petitions will be heard by CJI Chandrachoon Singh in Supreme Court Today 8 July

NEET UG Cancellation Plea Hearing Today: The petitions filed against all the irregularities in NEET UG exam 2024 will be heard in the Supreme Court today. The matter of NEET cancellation will also echo in the Supreme Court again today. Chief Justice of India Chandrachud Singh and two more judges JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra will hear the case. The hearing in the Supreme Court is to start at 10.30 am. From paper leak to cancellation of exam, all the issues will be debated in the Supreme Court today.

what is the matter

Let us tell you that this year’s NEET UG exam was held on 5th May. This year around 24 lakh students have appeared in this exam. Since the day of the exam, all kinds of allegations are being made on it, in which the issue of paper leak is also being raised.

The matter heated up further after the NEET results were announced when 67 students became toppers. After this, NTA announced that the grace marks given to 1563 students will be taken back. The exam was conducted again for these students but only 813 appeared for the exam.

On June 11, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court that the NEET UG exam should be held again. On this, the court said that the sanctity of the exam has been violated and sought a reply from the Central Government and NTA in this regard.

CBI is investigating

After several protests across the country, finally the matter is to be heard again today. In the petitions filed, it has been said that the investigation of this examination should be done under the supervision of the court. However, in view of the growing controversy in the recent days, the entire investigation of the case has been handed over to the CBI. The CBI suspected the paper leak to be connected from Bihar to Maharashtra and many suspicious people were also arrested.

What is the opinion of NTA and Central Government

In this case, while a petition has been filed to cancel the exam, the Central Government and NTA have filed an affidavit demanding that the exam should not be cancelled. They say that the cases of alleged malpractice are different and it is not right to cancel the exam and put the future of lakhs of students at risk. They say that there should be a hearing on what is wrong but the exam should not be cancelled.

Refused to stop counseling

During the last hearing, the Supreme Court refused to stop the counseling of NEET UG. The counseling was to be held from July 6 but it did not happen. The Ministry said in an official statement that the seat matrix of NEET UG will be finalized by the third week of July. Due to this, the counseling has not started yet. It will be clear in a short while what decision the Supreme Court gives in this matter too.
