National Testing Agency officials said that out of 1,563 candidates, 813 appeared for the NEET UG exam again. The exam was held at seven centres on the orders of the Supreme Court. During the NEET UG exam on May 5, grace marks were given to compensate for the loss of time due to the delay in starting at six centres. Out of 1,563 candidates, only 813 (52%) appeared for the exam on Sunday.
Amid the controversy over alleged irregularities in the medical entrance exam, the NTA on Sunday barred 17 candidates from appearing in the exam who had appeared for the exam at centres in Bihar on May 5. The agency had earlier also barred 63 candidates from the exam for using unfair means. On Saturday, 30 additional candidates from Godhra in Gujarat were also barred from appearing in the exam.
