Amidst this, this news gives a positive message to the society. A young man from East Champaran, Bihar got married without any music in the world’s highest Shiva temple. This is special because she neither spent any money nor took dowry in the marriage.
Munna Kumar of Sirhan village of East Champaran district of Bihar married without dowry. He made Aparna Singh, resident of Deepnagar in Nalanda district, his life partner. Both of them got married in the Shiva temple of Uttarakhand. This is the highest Shiva temple in the world. The most important thing is that despite being in a government job, neither any kind of transaction was done in this marriage nor any tradition that had been going on for centuries was followed. That means no unnecessary expenditure in the name of marriage. With true devotion, keeping Mahadev in their mind, the couple made each other their life partner.
The teacher showed the way to the society
Munna Kumar is a government teacher. He teaches computer science in Rajepur High School located in Mehsi block of East Champaran. Munna told that before getting a government job, he was a BCA teacher in LND College, Motihari. His father was a farmer.

Poverty and social evils inspired Munna to do something different. He laid the foundation of Happy School. In this, the aim is to improve the lives of children of economically backward and Dalit community and provide them free education. After getting a government job, now it was her turn to get married. The family members preferred Aparna Singh for marriage. According to Munna, Arpana is a cyclist, who tours different parts of the world by bicycle. Arpana’s family wanted to give dowry to their daughter, but the boy’s side refused to take anything.
Wedding in the world’s highest Mahadev temple
The wedding date was fixed for 29 March 2024. Munna refused to follow any customs in the marriage. According to Munna, there was no horse carriage, no band, no wedding procession and no chanting of mantras, he wanted to have a wedding which would impress the youth along with a large section of the society. Munna’s family supported his decision and got him married on the appointed date at Tungnath, the world’s highest Mahadev temple in Uttarakhand.
