A Nepal number passenger bus went out of control on Thursday evening at the Kosi Barrage in Nepal Division and fell into the Kosi river, breaking the railing of the bridge. The accident happened in front of gate number 36 of the barrage. However, there has been no casualty due to silt and low water discharge in the river. Due to low water flow in Kosi river, people have been rescued safely. About a dozen passengers have been injured in the incident, who have been admitted to Inarwa hospital for treatment by the local administration.

Regarding the incident, people say that at the time of the incident, more than two dozen passengers were traveling in Nepali number bus (Ko 1 Kh 4601) Narsingh Deluxe. The bus was going from Biratnagar in Nepal to Udaipur. Meanwhile, due to high speed at Kosi Barrage, the bus went out of control and broke the railing of the bridge and fell into the Kosi river. People told that at the time of the incident, gate number 36 of the barrage was closed, where this accident took place. Because of this, the people traveling in the bus did not have to face the strong current of the river.

Many lives were saved because of this

For the last several days, the discharge of water from Kosi Barrage has been less than 1 lakh cusecs and due to accumulation of silt, the water level in front of gate number 36 was less than knee-deep. However, as soon as the information about the incident was received, the district administration of Sunsari, Nepal came into action and started rescue operations. The administration first took out the people traveling in the bus through the window and then the bus was also taken out through a crane. Here, the injured bus passengers have been admitted for treatment to the hospital located in Inarwa, the district headquarters of Sunsari. Sunsari District Magistrate Ramchandra Tiwari said that the rescue work is being carried out on priority basis. After this the damage will be assessed. Let us tell you that in view of security, there is a ban on the high speed of vehicles on Kosi Barrage located in Nepal Division. Despite this, many times the news of such accidents due to high speed has been coming to the fore.
