This earthquake of magnitude 8 had completely destroyed Nepali capital Kathmandu, Munger and Muzaffarpur cities of Bihar state of India.
Earthquake came only on 15 January
This earthquake occurred on January 15 at around 2:13 pm Indian time. The epicenter of this earthquake was located about 9.5 km south of Mount Everest in eastern Nepal. How terrible the earthquake was can be gauged from the fact that the effect of the earthquake was felt from Lhasa, the capital of Tibet to Mumbai and from Assam to Punjab. The tremors were so strong that many buildings in Kolkata were damaged and the tower of St. Paul’s Cathedral collapsed.
The accident happened on Sunday morning
At the same time, 72 people including five Indians died in the plane crash in Pokhara, Nepal on Sunday. A total of 72 people including 68 passengers and four crew members were on board this aircraft and none of them survived. This was confirmed by the Nepal Army on Monday. The army said on Monday that no one could be pulled out alive from the crashed plane. This is the biggest plane crash in Nepal in many years.
A plane of Yeti Airlines was the victim of an accident on Sunday morning at around 11 am. This 72 seater aircraft crashed just 10-20 seconds before landing on the runway of Pokhara airport.
