In this sequence, UGC has come out with a new rule under which more and more people of the country can be made literate. Under this rule, now every student of the university will have to teach at least five illiterate people every year. UGC believes that this will reduce the number of illiterate people in the country and by the year 2047, our country will also be included in the list of developed nations. Since education is important for this, efforts are on in this area.

Credit score in return

This rule will apply to both the students studying in University and Higher Educational Institutes. These students will have to select five illiterate people every year and give them education, that is, they will have to be taught to read and write. In return they will also get a credit score which will be added to their result at the end of the course.

The rule will be applicable from the new session

This rule will be applicable from the new session. For this UGC has also issued detailed guidelines. To implement it, there is talk of linking it to every project work and assignment. This will include both graduate and post graduate courses.

Get this much credit score

Under this scheme, five credit scores will be given to the student for teaching an illiterate. But this will happen only when the learner becomes literate. That is, when he gets the certificate of being literate, only then you will be given a credit score.

According to UGC, this initiative can speed up the literacy campaign in the country. The literacy rate in the country is 78 percent. It is being considered to make it 100%. This is the goal of UGC.
