Sarhasa. It is bound to make your mouth water on hearing the name of pickle. Women like pickles more. This is the reason that when the season comes, the practice of making pickles starts in every house, but now-a-days different varieties of pickles are rarely made in the houses and this is not possible due to the busyness of the urban areas. In such a situation, if you are fond of eating pickles, then come to the Mahayogini Mela held at Matsyagandha in Saharsa. Many types of pickles like mango, jackfruit, karonji, amla, chilli etc. will be found here along with the recipe of Jharkhand.

Traders from Jharkhand have brought 40 varieties of pickles with them in this fair. The aroma emanating from different types of pickles at the stalls is attracting especially women here. Trader Manish Kumar told that he goes to the fairs held in different districts of Bihar and sets up stalls of sweet and sour pickles. He said, ‘There are about 40 varieties of pickles at our stall, which are available at the rate of 50 to 100 rupees for 250 grams.’ So get out of the house and buy pickles of fruits and vegetables of your choice before the stock runs out.

Kumar says that his stall remains open from 10 am till late night. People are fiercely buying pickles. Manish told that at his stall mango pickle, chilli pickle, lemon pickle, jackfruit pickle, garlic, amla, green and red chilli pickle, capsicum pickle, jalapeno chilli pickle, tamarind pickle, bamboo shoots pickle, marmalade Including pickles of many types of fruits and vegetables.
