Uttar Pradesh is one of the largest states in the country. There are many universities, medical colleges, engineering colleges and higher educational institutions in this state. But not a single state university from this state is in the top hundred universities of the country. When the CAG report came recently, it was found that all the state universities of Uttar Pradesh are out of the ranking of top hundred universities and colleges of the country. The report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India was tabled in the House recently.
These universities are the worst
According to this report, Lucknow University and Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth of Varanasi are in the worst condition. About 60,000 students pass out from these universities every year. But only one thousand of them get further employment. Even these institutions do not have any information about what the boys and girls studying here are doing after completing their studies.
Taking full advantage of scholarship
According to this report of CAG, about 73 to 80 percent students of Kashi Vidyapeeth and about 56 to 67 percent students of Lucknow University are taking advantage of post matric scholarship. Let us tell you that this scholarship is given by the Social Welfare Department. The same report also states that till March 2020, there were a total of 341 affiliated colleges from Kashi Vidyapeeth and 171 from Lucknow University. Seeing the number of these colleges, it is clear that the number of self finance colleges is increasing rapidly in Uttar Pradesh.
Why students are not getting employment
The biggest reason for the students studying from these colleges not getting employment is the lack of skills in them. Most of the students studying here complain that their classes do not run on time, nor are they given any such skill development course, so that they can get a job outside after studying here.
