Desi Ghee Business: From Tradition to Modernity
Farmers and cattle rearers of Etawah have been producing pure desi ghee for a long time. Here the brand named Nirmal Desi Ghee has been given Agmark tag by the Government of India, which is a proof of its purity. In the plant located on Ramlila Road, Etawah, ghee is produced using modern machines as well as traditional methods. To ensure the purity of the ghee, pharmacists and assistants are appointed here, who test the ghee under stringent procedures.
Purity guaranteed: four-hour process
Jitendra Kumar Jain, director of Nirmal Desi Ghee, said that a process of about four hours is adopted to measure the purity of ghee. His family has been in the business since 1939, and the business grew even further after they received the Agmark in 1956. Lakhs of kilos of pure desi ghee is supplied from Etawah across the country, which also includes supplies for army soldiers and officers.
Dairy business of Etawah
A large population of Etawah is dependent on agriculture and dairy business is the main activity here. There is immense potential in the dairy sector in Badhpura, Jaswantnagar, and Saifai development blocks. However, cattle farmers do not maintain their animals professionally, due to which the milk production capacity decreases with time. Despite this, the farmers of Etawah prepare pure desi ghee and supply it to different parts of the country, due to which this district is maintaining its distinct identity across the country. Etawah is still known for its pure desi ghee, and the ghee here is famous for its quality throughout the country.
