New Delhi. There is a relief news for the students who could not fill the college and course preference for admission in undergraduate courses in the academic session 2024-25 of Delhi University. DU has extended the date of the second phase (selecting college and course) of the Common Seat Allocation System. Candidates can select college and course till 11:59 pm on August 9. Actually, the last date for this was till 5 pm on August 7. Even before that, the DU administration has extended the date for the convenience of the students. DU has advised the candidates to fill as many preferences as possible. At the same time, the process of the first phase (registration) has ended. Under this, more than two and a quarter lakh students have registered in DU. Out of these, 1 lakh 70 thousand have also selected the college and course so far.
DU has not changed the rest of the admission schedule. This is the last chance for students to select colleges and courses. After this phase is over, they will not be able to add or subtract colleges and programs and will not be able to take admission in regular colleges of DU. Students have been advised to select as many colleges and courses as possible to get admission. Along with this, keep saving their preferences (selections) on a regular basis. If not saved, the preferences of the students will be auto-locked on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal by 5 pm on August 9. After this, a probable simulated list will be released to indicate the chances of admission.
B.Com, B.Com Honors, Political Science are becoming the choice of students
Under the college and course selection process in DU, courses like B.Com, B.Com Honors, Political Science Honors, English Honors are becoming the choice of students. DU Admission Dean Prof. Haneet Gandhi said that so far B.Com Program, B.Com Honors, Political Science, English Honors, History Honors, Economics and Psychology have been chosen by the most number of students.
ECA and Sports trials will start from August 12
The trials for admission under performance based program and sports-ECA (extracurricular activity) quota in DU will start from August 12. Performance based programs include BA Honors (Music), Bachelor of Fine Arts, BSc Physical Education, Health Education and Sports. DU has advised to make their arrangements according to this date. In fact, many students are also from outside Delhi, due to which they often complain about not knowing the date of the trial. At the same time, DU will release the detailed schedule for the trial soon. DU has clarified that the allocation of seats for performance based programs, ECA and sports quota will start with the third round of regular seat allocation.
Webinar on 9th for admission to ECA-Sports
For ECA and Sports admissions, DU will organize a webinar on August 9 at 3 pm. In this, the process of trials and the admission process of these quotas will be explained. It can be seen through DU’s YouTube channel and answers to questions can also be taken.
