MuzaffarpurThere is good news for the litchi farmers of Muzaffarpur in this scorching heat. Now after the litchis are plucked from the orchards, they will remain safe and fresh even at 40 to 42 degree temperatures. There will be no reduction in the sweetness of the litchis. Plants are being planted for this. An Israeli company is planting them.
Litchi is a juicy fruit of summer. But the heat itself damages it. This delicate fruit cannot bear high temperatures and the fruit gets spoiled quickly. Preserving it is a difficult task for both farmers and businessmen. But now for the first time in Muzaffarpur district, an Israeli company is going to implement it. With Israeli technology, Shahi Litchi can be preserved for four days even in the current temperature.
The company will set up plants at two places
The Israeli company will set up a plant in Kanti and Bandra blocks. Trials are being conducted for this. After treatment in the plant, the freshness and redness of litchi will remain intact. After sending litchi to far away places, the problem of storing it and keeping it for many days will soon end.
The color and appearance will not change for 4 days
Vinod Kumar Patel, an employee of the Israeli company processing litchi, told Local 18 that we have done successful experiments on strawberries, grapes and mushrooms. Now we are doing it for litchi. This experiment has been started from Muzaffarpur in Bihar. Right now, after being plucked from the orchard, litchi remains safe only for two days. In this, litchi is preserved for 3 hours and then packed and sent. If this experiment is successful, then the problem that arises due to temperature from plucking litchi to sending it will be solved. Officials associated with the Israeli company said that work has started in this direction. A plant has to be set up. Company officials have also visited those blocks. Using this technology will help in sending litchi packets to any part of the country.
This is how the process will be
Bihar Litchi Utpadak Sangh’s state president Bachcha Prasad Singh said that the Israeli company will provide the machine for only 11 thousand rupees. With the help of the machine, two quintals of litchi will be processed and made temperature-friendly at the cost of 100 rupees. This will keep it fresh for three-four days. Currently, its trial is being done in many gardens.
