14 year old Jaidev Bildar, resident of Nawandisar village of Panchmahal, has made a unique shoe for the safety of girls. This shoe gives an electric shock to any girl who touches it. Jaidev, studying in eighth grade, displayed this shoe in an exhibition.
Inspiration received from TV and Internet
Jaidev told that he saw the news of harassment of girls on TV and internet, which gave him this idea. “I thought I should find some solution to this problem. For this I chose it as a project,” Jaidev said. He took help from his teachers and purchased the necessary equipment online to fit the shoe soles.
Help in finding shoes
Finding a suitable shoe to fit the equipment in the shoe was challenging. During this time, Godhra’s famous gynecologist Dr. Sujat Wali gave her a pair of shoes.
Teachers gave praise
Gopal Patel, assistant head teacher of Nawandisar Primary School, said that this innovation of Jaydev and his social sensitivity is praiseworthy. He said, “We give such problems to the children, whose solutions they find on their own. This is part of our curriculum. We do not show them the straight path, but encourage their imagination.”

Jaidev told that this shoe works on the principle of electrical tester. “Just as we insert the tester into the socket and do not get a shock, similarly this shoe will not shock the wearer. But if anyone tries to touch the girl, he will get a severe shock,” he said. For this he purchased equipment like high voltage generator online.
Shoe shown in exhibition
This shoe was displayed in the education carnival organized by Lok Vigyan Kendra in Kalol. Many curious visitors to the exhibition also tested the shoes and felt the shock. Jaidev said that he wants to study science further and aspires to learn robotics. This innovation of his is a wonderful example of his thinking and his hard work.
