Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is going to do wonders once again. Actually, ISRO is about to launch the weather monitoring geosynchronous satellite INSAT-3DS. The most special thing about this satellite is that it revolves relative to the Earth and makes very accurate predictions of the weather. It will be launched today at 5:30 pm from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota.
Will be deployed in geosynchronous transfer orbit
ISRO will use GSLV Mk II rocket to launch INSAT-3DS satellite. It is being told that this satellite will be deployed in geosynchronous transfer orbit just 20 minutes after take-off. Meteorologists believe that if this happens, they will be able to get accurate information about the weather in the coming time. Farmers will get the maximum benefit from this and the life of the common man will also become easier. Let us tell you, the last satellite of this series INSAT-3DR was launched in the year 2016.
Why are meteorologists happy
Meteorologists are most happy with the launch of this satellite. In fact, as soon as this satellite is established in the Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit, it will start sending data to the Meteorological Department (IMD), National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) and Weather Forecasting Centre. Meteorologists will keep an eye on it 24 hours a day, so that accurate weather predictions can be made.

This satellite is equipped with many hi-tech facilities. Its weight is 2274 kg. It has image payload, sounder payload, data relay transponder and satellite aided search and rescue transponder. These modern equipment help in the study of clouds, fog, rain and snow. Apart from this, the situation of marine disturbances can be easily monitored through this satellite. The condition of winds and clouds will also be monitored with its help.
