Jammu-Kashmir News: After the announcement of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, political rhetoric has also increased. In this sequence, National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah accused People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti of copying his party’s manifesto. Omar Abdullah asked the PDP not to field candidates against Congress-NC candidates, because their agenda is the same.
According to a Hindustan Times report, National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah, while addressing party workers in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir, said, “PDP says that if the NC-Congress alliance accepts their agenda, then they will not field candidates. Because, you have put all our agenda in your manifesto.” This comment of Omar Abdullah came a day after Mehbooba Mufti’s statement.
PDP copied the manifesto of National Conference- Omar Abdullah
Omar Abdullah said, “You have already accepted our agenda and now there is no difference between your and our agenda. So don’t field candidates again and come, we will build a better tomorrow for Jammu and Kashmir.” Abdullah said that the PDP has basically copied the NC’s manifesto, which includes promises of providing 200 units of free electricity within the first year and one lakh government jobs.

National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah said, “We will give one lakh government jobs in the first year. The PDP has put this in its manifesto as well. We talked about reopening the routes (across the LoC), this is also in the PDP manifesto. We talked about keeping the doors of dialogue open with Pakistan. They also said so. Whatever my colleagues said in our manifesto, almost all of them have also put it.”
Know what Mehbooba Mufti said?
PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said on Saturday (August 24) that her party is ready to extend full support to the Congress-NC alliance and give them all the assembly seats, provided the alliance accepts the PDP’s agenda. Mufti said, “Forget about alliance and seat sharing. If the Congress and National Conference (NC) are ready to accept our agenda, then we will ask them to contest on all the seats.”
When Mehbooba Mufti was asked whether Congress has approached PDP for alliance, she replied, “Because for me the solution of Kashmir problem is more important than anything else.”
