Today we are taking you to such a place where not gods and goddesses but demons are worshipped. Khopa Dham is located in Khopa village in Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh. Where a demon named Bakasur is worshipped.
It is believed that Bakasura fulfills everyone’s wishes here. People also know Khopa Dham by the name of demon god. A large number of devotees come here to worship the demon. By tying a red cloth and offering a coconut, they ask for a vow. The main priest here, Sukhlal, who is also the sarpanch of this village, is called Baiga. It is said that the wishes of the devotees who come here and ask for a vow are fulfilled.

Baiga also told the interesting story of Bakasura. He told that a demon named Bakasur lived with his family in the river near the village. Pleased with a Baiga caste youth of the village, he came and started living at a place outside the village and he allowed the people of Baiga caste to worship him. The method and method of worshiping Bakasur is also different. People who reach here first offer coconut, incense sticks and supari to Bakasur and ask for a vow. Those whose wishes are fulfilled, they come here again and offer goat or liquor. This place is being worshiped for hundreds of years.
Temple construction not yet done
According to the local people, Khopa Devta or Bakasur had told the local residents before establishing here that my temple should not be built. So that I get imprisoned in the four walls.
