In today’s times, women are touching the sky. But the story of Japan’s Mitsuko Tottori is extraordinary. Japan Airlines recently appointed her the CEO of the company, but you will be surprised to know that Tottori was once a flight attendant in the same company. Like a normal air hostess, it was their job to welcome the passengers and provide them facilities. But today she is the boss of the company. His orders are followed in the entire company. This is being described as a milestone for women empowerment.
According to CNN report, Tottori started his career as a flight attendant at Japan Airlines in 1985. She continued working as a crew member for about 20 years. In 2005, the company made him the manager of the cabin attendant department of the firm. Then seeing his dedication, he was made senior manager in 2013. Now she has become the top boss. She is the first woman to hold this post. There are less than one percent of companies in Japan whose bosses are women.
Graduate from General Women’s Junior College
After taking charge, Tottori said, there is a shortage of women managers in Japan. I hope that soon Japan will be a country where there will be a woman President. No one should be surprised by this. Let us tell you that till now 7 out of 10 people who have held this post have been highly qualified. But Tottori is a typical women’s junior college graduate. The reasons given by the company while appointing him include safe flight operations during his career, excellent service and experience, proper management of aircraft during Covid etc.
