The world of water parks is very unique. Such theme parks are made for entertainment and are especially made for families and children. But only a few are famous. But there is one such park which has been closed and is now known more for its scary nature. It is not that it did not get tourists. But the circumstances became such that it was closed and this theme park of Vietnam is now considered scarier than hell.
Ho Thoi Tien, also known as Thien An Parkam in Vietnam, started in 2001 as an ambitious project costing Rs 24.25 crore. There is a monastery nearby and the area is known for its natural beauty, making it a natural attraction for tourists.
The project was financed by the city’s tourism company, but despite a good number of tourists, problems began immediately. When it opened to punters in 2004, the park was only half built. But high hopes for success were dashed just a few months into the project and the park closed down.

Attempts to revive it and turn it into an eco-tourism complex in 2006 failed to attract enough tourists and it was closed again in 2011. Now, rusty slides have been replaced with overgrown plants, while scary figures such as dragon statues dominate the scenery.
According to a HuffPost article in 2016, even the fish tanks were filled with water, but there was no sign of life inside. HuffPost said, “Because the closed waterpark is so mysterious, backpackers write directions on folded napkins, put pins on Google Maps and show each other photos to get to the right spot.” In 2023, plans were released by local officials to clean up the park and make it usable for camping as well as turn it into a popular tourist destination.
