Generally the size of Kachori is around three inches, but here it is made of one to one and a half inches. Due to its taste it is in demand all over the world. Baba Kachori in front of PBM Hospital makes 4 to 5 thousand kachoris every day. People know it by many names.
4 generation old shop
Sunil Sankhi, who is running Baba Kachori shop, says that this shop is four generations old. 25 years ago, 16 kachoris were available for one rupee, but now 4 kachoris are available for 10 rupees. It takes two hours to make this small shortbread. Gram flour, flour, hot spices etc. are added to it. The taste of Baba Kachori is such that everyone from children to elders like it. Less chilli masala is added to Kachori, so that everyone can eat it easily. Apart from Kachori, chilli vada, kofta and samosa are available at this Baba’s shop for Rs 5. The price of Bread Vada is Rs 10.

Baba’s shop is in front of the hospital. That’s why there is a queue of doctors here to eat Kachori. People have named it Doctor Kachori. It is also called small shortbread.
10 kachoris for two and a half rupees
Smaller and cheaper kachoris than this are not available anywhere in India. For this, there is a queue at the shop from morning till evening. Ten 700 to 800 kachoris are made at a time. Usually, Kachoris are available for Rs 10 to Rs 15, but in Bikaner, four Kachoris are available for Rs 10.
Demand abroad also
Sunil told that his Kachori goes even abroad. People coming from America, Paris, Germany and Canada take the kachoris here. Many times, when their relatives demand Kachori, they send it to America or Germany.
Does not spoil for 15 days
Sunil told that his Kachori does not spoil for 15 days to a month. The fourth generation of the family is running this shop. Sunil’s great grandfather had opened this shop. After that grandfather, father and now he himself is working in this shop.
