What did PM Modi say?

PM Modi said the ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal, which aims to hold all elections in the country simultaneously on the same day or within a specific time frame, will soon be approved and become a reality. The proposal was approved by the Cabinet earlier this year and will be presented in the winter session of Parliament later this year.

He said, “We are now working towards ‘One Nation One Election’, which will strengthen India’s democracy, make best use of India’s resources and give new momentum to the country in realizing the dream of a developed India. “Today India is moving towards ‘One Nation One Civil Code’, which is a secular civil code.”
