OpenAI ChatGPT Sam Altman Company Hires its First Indian Employee Appointed as Government Relation Head


ChatGPT maker OpenAI has started hiring employees in India. According to the information, the name of the first employee of the company is Pragya Mishra, who has been appointed as a Government Relations Head. According to a report, OpenAI has hired Pragya to lead public policy affairs and partnerships. Before this, Pragya has worked on many big platforms including Truecaller.

The Bloomberg report quoted sources as saying that OpenAI has finalized the appointment of Pragya Mishra. By the end of this month, Pragya can make a new start with the company. However, there has been no talk from OpenAI or its representatives regarding hiring in India. Also, Pragya Mishra has also not given any answer regarding this.

Who is Pragya Mishra

Pragya Mishra was earlier working as the head of public affairs department in Truecaller. Before this, she has also worked with Meta Platforms, where in the year 2018, she led a campaign run by WhatsApp against misinformation. Pragya Mishra has obtained MBA from International Management Institute and Commerce degree from Delhi University. Apart from this, Pragya has also done a diploma from London School of Economics and Political Science.

Currently OpenAI’s competitor in India is Alphabet Inc. Is a Google company. Google is going to develop an AI model for the country. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, during his visit to India last year, had said that AI research in countries like India should be supported in such a way that government services like healthcare can be improved. Altman also said that India is the first country to adopt OpenAI’s generative AI service ChatGPT.
