Osho: The birthday of spiritual guru Osho, who has made his own identity in the world of spirituality, is 11th December. He is also called Acharya Rajneesh. Many people in the country and the world know Osho but very few people know that Osho was born in his maternal home i.e. Kuchwada, a small village in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. The same kutcha house has been preserved here even today.
After being born in this house of Kuchwara on 11 December 1931, Acharya Rajneesh Chandramohan stayed in Gadarwada in Narsinghpur district for his school education. After this, with time, he started attracting people towards spirituality through his messages in the country and then abroad. Even today he has millions of followers all over the world.
Earlier, every year on this day (on Osho’s birthday) in Kuchwada of Raisen, his devotees from all over the country and abroad used to come here to remember him and pay tribute. But now this place is falling into disrepair due to the neglect of Osho Trust and negligence of the government.
The dream of spiritual tourism is marred by controversies
Do what you want to do in your life, people say something even when you do nothing, This is the message of the great philosopher saint Bhagwan Rajneesh Osho, who had shown the world a new way of living. But today the condition of his birthplace has become quite pathetic. Rajneesh Osho’s house and ashram is in Kuchwada village, about 110 km from the district headquarters.
The walls of this house, which is about 150 years old, have become dilapidated. There has also been rust on the nets. Dirty water from the drains is flowing in front of the house and there is also a pile of garbage. The dream of developing this place as spiritual tourism was shown to his followers and the people of Kuchwada village, but at present no work has been done. The dream of spiritual tourism became a victim of controversies.
Abp team took stock of Osho’s birthplace
Today 11th December is Osho Rajneesh’s birthday. The ABP team inspected that village in detail. Today, leaving aside the preparations for Osho’s birth anniversary, there was a ‘satra’ (satra) at Osho’s birthplace.
People of Kuchwada village told ABP that there was no development here. The caretakers of the ashram have kept his house locked and no one is allowed inside. A hospital was also started here, that too is now closed. Because the treatment was supposed to be free here, but the local people associated with the trust told the doctor couple to collect money for the treatment from the patients. The couple refused, after which the hospital building lay in ruins.
Kuchwara resident Brajendra Patel told that his father Madhav Sharan Patel had also sent a letter to Osho Rajneesh in America, in which he had asked for the development of Kuchwara. But due to dispute between the two factions, development did not take place and now the house where Osho Rajneesh was born is also falling into ruins.
