Water Development Scheme: The central and state governments are continuously working to increase the income of farmers. In this sequence, now the cultivation of betel leaf is being promoted by the Bihar government. For which Rs 5 crore has been approved under the Betel Leaf Development Scheme. To increase the area of ​​​​betel leaf cultivation, the government will conduct a survey of betel leaf producing farmers and will help them in making Kisan Credit Card (KCC). Along with this, betel leaf farmers will also be given a subsidy on the construction of Bareja. This scheme will be implemented in 15 districts.

The government will survey the betel growers and provide them Kisan Credit Card, which will facilitate loans through banks. This survey will benefit the farmers cultivating betel and help improve their economic condition. The area of ​​betel will be expanded to provide more economic benefits to the betel producing farmers. Farmers can apply for KCC with LPC. By the financial year 2025-26, the area of ​​betel will be expanded to 42.50 hectares under the Betel Development Scheme, for which Rs 5 crore has been approved.

To promote betel cultivation and increase the income of farmers, the government is giving subsidy on the construction of Bareja. A subsidy of minimum Rs 11,750 to maximum Rs 35,250 is being provided. However, the benefit of this scheme will be given only at an interval of 3 years. The objective of this scheme is to encourage more and more betel farmers to increase the area of ​​betel cultivation.

How to get benefit

The benefit of the subsidy scheme will now be given to the betel farmers through lottery. To avail the benefit of this scheme, farmers will have to wait for three years. The benefit of the scheme was given on first come first serve basis.
