Paddy Crop Seeds Subsidy: The agriculture department has started distribution of seeds at 50% subsidy for paddy cultivation for the Kharif season in Jharkhand. The department aims to distribute 52,000 quintals of seeds. Farmers can register themselves through blockchain and get OTP for purchasing seeds.

Paddy is the main crop of Kharif season. Paddy cultivation will start in Jharkhand with the arrival of monsoon. The Agriculture Department has started distributing seeds for Kharif crop. Paddy seeds are being given to farmers at 50% subsidy. This will give farmers more profit at less cost.

To provide paddy seeds to the farmers, the department has purchased 25730 quintals of seeds from the National Seed Corporation. It is being distributed in all the districts. This time the department has set a target of distributing 52,000 quintals of seeds.

Seeds are being made available to about 15 lakh registered farmers in Jharkhand. Farmers interested in paddy cultivation can register through blockchain. For this, Aadhaar card and mobile number will be required.

OTP will come

While buying seeds, farmers will receive an OTP on their mobile number. Only after providing the OTP will they receive seeds from Lampus packs. For the last few years, the department has worked to completely eliminate the possibility of any kind of tampering in seed distribution by using blockchain technology.

At what rate the seeds are being given

To provide relief to farmers, the state government is providing seeds at 50% subsidy. Paddy seeds are being given at Rs 20-22/kg. Seeds for Kharif crop can be purchased from National Seed Corporation or selected agency. After purchasing the seeds, the department samples the seeds at its level and tests them. Each lot is sampled. If the sample fails, the farmers are again provided seeds free of cost.
