An Arab Islamic summit was held on Monday (November 11, 2024) regarding Palestine and Gaza. Top leaders of all Islamic countries participated in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The purpose of this meeting was to determine how to exert international pressure so that the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza can be addressed, the war can be stopped and a ceasefire can be achieved. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also attended the conference and he also raised his voice for Gaza, but the Islamic countries told Pakistan its status. Pak expert Qamar Cheema said that by doing this the Muslim countries have shown what is the value of Pakistan in their eyes. He said that leaders of other Asian countries are standing in the first line because the Arab world considers them more powerful than Pakistan. Arab countries think that they can call Pakistan any time by paying them because it is always in need.
Qamar Cheema said that Pakistanis talk that we are such a big nuclear arms company and the Arab world often needs us, but they have made us stand back. Muslim countries thought that what is Pakistan’s business, we can call it as per our wish by paying money. He keeps needing 4, 5, 10 billion dollars. Pak expert said, ‘It is a matter to think as to why our Prime Minister was made to stand in the back row. We are the great champions of Palestine. Even if we assume that this is an Arab-Islamic summit, Arab countries would have been put forward, but see, Maldives President Mohammad Muizzoo is in the first line, Turkey’s President is standing with him and leaders of Central Asia are also standing. Let us assume that Arabs have been given first preference. Preference is given to the stronger. It is not given to Arab or non-Arab.
Qamar Cheema further said that we have been raising the issue of Palestine for the last one and a half years, but Arabs do not like it when Pakistan talks too much about Palestine. He says what, you keep talking about Palestine again and again. This is our issue, we will look into it. He said, ‘Pakistan should call a conference on Palestine and then see how many countries from the Arab world participate. It is possible that the reason given for making Shehbaz Sharif stand at the back of the line is that the leaders were made to stand alphabetically or those who came as soon as possible were made to make them stand that way.
