Pakistan big business leader advises Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to improve relations with India

India-Pakistan Relations: Pakistan is currently facing a historic economic crisis, in such a situation the country’s big business leaders have urged Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to improve relations with India. A business leader named Arif Habib told the PM that Pakistan should consider improving relations with neighboring countries, especially India, to improve the country’s economy.

According to Pakistani news Geo News, the Pakistani business leader gave this suggestion during an event in Karachi on Wednesday. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif himself was present in this program. After the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir in the year 2019, Pakistan reduced its relations with India and also stopped trade relations with India. During this time the then Prime Minister Imran Khan Had made many allegations against India. He said that by removing this article, India weakened the environment for dialogue between the two neighboring countries.

Condition of Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves
However, the situation in Pakistan worsened after breaking relations with India. The country faced a historic economic crisis as inflation reached an all-time high. The country’s foreign exchange reserves, which are facing cash crunch, are on the verge of being exhausted. In such a situation, Pakistan had to take a loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). In the year 2019, India had canceled the MFN (Most Favored Nation) status from Pakistan after the Pulwama terrorist attack. This decision has also had a great impact on the Pakistani economy.

Shahbaz did not listen to the advice of the business leader
During the question-and-answer session, Habib praised Shahbaz’s efforts in getting the bailout package from the IMF during the previous government. Also said that the Pakistani Prime Minister should ‘shake two more hands’, one with India and the other with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. The former Prime Minister of Pakistan is currently serving a sentence in Adiala Jail on various corruption charges. During this time, Shahbaz Sharif ignored Habib’s suggestions. Shahbaz said that he does not want to take credit for ‘positive things’. ‘I believe that we should take advantage of the opportunities we are getting. The country’s priority should be exports and development.
