Pakistan Maryam Nawaz Sharif becomes first ever woman CM of a Pakistan province PMLN


Pakistan Latest News: Maryam Nawaz, 50-year-old daughter of Nawaz Sharif, who was the Prime Minister of Pakistan thrice, has created history. She has become the first woman leader to become the Chief Minister of West Punjab of Pakistan. After assuming the post of CM, Maryam, senior vice president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, said, ‘This is the victory of every woman, every mother and sister.’

Maryam Nawaz took oath as CM of Punjab on Monday (26 February 2204). When she was giving a speech in the provincial assembly, a photograph of her late mother Kulsoom was also shown. Seeing this moment everyone present there became emotional.

Maryam Nawaz roared

Maryam Nawaz said, ‘Today this victory is not just mine. This is a victory for every woman, every mother…and I hope, I am not the last. This victory of women should continue even after me.

Jubilant with the victory, Maryam said that she has to face many big challenges ahead. ‘My competition is not with anyone else but with the great people of my own party, Nawaz Sharif (Maryam’s father) and Shahbaz Sharif (Maryam’s uncle).’

He further said, “Ever since I was nominated as the CM of Punjab, Nawaz Sharif Sahab has been discussing with me our plans for the next 5 years. It is not easy to handle his legacy, but I have decided that I have to perform something different and exceed expectations.

Maryam Nawaz’s political journey

Maryam Nawaz Sharif got a total of 220 votes in the provincial assembly. He entered politics for the first time in 2012. At present, Maryam’s name is included among the special leaders of Pakistan.
