Pakistan Power Crisis: In the midst of economic crisis, the neighboring country Pakistan is also facing ‘electricity crisis’. In view of the power crisis in the country, the government has decided to close the markets and restaurants till 8 pm. At the same time, while the wedding halls will be open only till 10 pm. Pakistan introduced this new plan on Tuesday for energy conservation.

National Energy-Conservation Program launched

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has started the ‘National Energy-Conservation’ program. The event comes a day after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed officials to reduce the debt of the energy sector. Minister Khwaja Asif said that the central government will contact the provinces to implement this nationwide scheme. Giving information to the media after the cabinet meeting, the minister said that the final decision will be taken by Thursday.

Restaurant hours may be extended

Asif told the media, “In the next few days, we will contact all the provinces with this national project and then on Thursday the energy conservation policy will be given the final approval.” Explaining the plan, he said that the opening hours of marriage halls would be limited to 10 pm, while restaurants, hotels and markets would be closed by 8 pm.

However, he said that there may be some scope to extend the closing time of restaurants by one hour. Minister Khwaja Asif said that if 20 percent government employees work from home on rotation basis, then the country can save Rs 56 billion. At the same time, with some such steps, the country will be able to save 62 billion rupees.

Energy saving fans and bulbs will be launched

He also said that energy-saving fans and bulbs will soon be launched in Pakistan, which can save the country Rs 38 billion. Along with this, electric bikes will replace traditional motorcycles to reduce the consumption of petrol in the country.

Let us tell you that on December 2, the foreign exchange reserves of Pakistan’s central bank ‘State Bank of Pakistan’ have come down to the lowest level of four years (6.72 billion dollars).
