Blast in Balochistan: There was a big explosion in a moving bus in Balochistan, Pakistan on Saturday evening (January 4, 2025). A passenger vehicle and a police vehicle were hit in this suicide attack. According to news agency IANS, 8 security personnel have died in the blast in the bus. While more than 40 people have been injured. Most of the injured are youth. This attack reminded us of the Pulwama attack in India in February 2019. In Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists had hit a vehicle included in the CRPF convoy with a car filled with explosives.
According to The Dawn report, Balochistan Liberation Army has taken responsibility for this attack. Balochistan Inspector General of Police Office Public Relations Officer Rabia Tariq said that according to initial information, a bus going from Karachi to Turbat was targeted in New Bahman area.
Quetta SSP’s family also injured
Rabia Tariq said that a large number of security forces and police have reached the spot. The area has been cordoned off. The special thing is that Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Quetta Zohaib Mohsin was also going to Turbat with his family and got caught in the blast. Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind said in a statement that SSP Mohsin and four members of his family were slightly injured.

He said, “Those who target innocent people do not deserve to be called human beings.” He said he shares the grief of the families affected by the incident and prays for the recovery of the injured.
