Actually, there is nothing like that. This area was named Heera Mandi because the name of the person who settled it was Heera Heera Singh Dogra, who is also known as Heera Singh Nabha.
Heera’s father Raja Dhyan Singh was the son of Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Lahore. Raja Dhyan Singh was the Prime Minister of Lahore. He died during that time. After this Heera was made the Prime Minister there. Heera opened a grain market in that area and due to this the name of that place became Heera Mandi. And till today that place has the same name.
