In an interview given to Pinkvilla, Parineeti told how her husband Raghav reacted to her starting her singing career. Parineeti said, “He was like, ‘Oh God, this is something you should have done 10 years ago.’ He was very encouraging for this. You talk a lot about your insecurities with your partner, but personally, I am not that person. I am not insecure at all. So I would never go to him and say, ‘Listen, I’m really stressed, and I don’t know what to do. I am a very positive person. So as soon as I told him about it, he said, ‘Just go for it.’

What influenced Parineeti to start a music career? In response to this question he said, “My only and biggest influence in music has been my father. Actually, my mother too but in a very different way. She would tell me stories about when she had changed my nappy, and she would sing me songs from ABCD to ‘Hills Are Alive’. She also used to sing Mariah Carey songs for me. I remember when I was three years old, my father used to do stage shows and I used to stand next to him and sing along with him. So I feel like my entire childhood was about music.
Parineeti very happy to start music career
Parineeti said, “I got a degree in music because of my parents. I know everyone says this line, but for me, it’s really true that music is my life. This has been my whole life. So imagine I come from an industry where there’s a real career in music, and for 12 years I didn’t do it, I did something else. I did films, brands, this and that, but I never got into all-time music. All my directors would often say, ‘Why don’t you sing professionally’, and in my heart, I used to say, ‘Just give me a chance. Give it. Finally that day has come. I am very happy.”
