Passport pages were torn to hide the Thailand trip, what is the punishment for doing this?

Do you have a passport? Because having a passport is most important to go abroad. A person cannot go abroad without a passport and visa. But do you know what punishment you can get if you tamper with your passport or tear a page of it to hide information about a trip. Today we will tell you about it.

Passport

Having a passport is most important to travel abroad. But 25-year-old fashion merchandising student SS Ghatol in Mumbai has been stopped from boarding a flight to Singapore despite having a passport at Mumbai airport. Actually, immigration officials found that four pages of her passport were missing. According to the police, Ghatol was traveling on a tourist visa for an internship sponsored by her institute located in Worli. But she had tampered with her passport. Now the question is, what will happen if a person tears a page from his passport after the completion of the journey.

Tampering of Passport

According to senior officials associated with the security of IGI Airport, any kind of tampering of the passport can not only become an obstacle in your foreign travel, but can also send you to jail under section 12 of the Passport Act. Actually, this strictness has been done by the Immigration Bureau in view of all the attempts to go abroad illegally in the past decades.

Passport stitching

Please note that it is not possible that the stitching of the passport will come off on its own. But if for some reason the stitching of the passport comes off, then instead of stitching the passport yourself, you should contact the regional passport office. If you have stitched your passport yourself, then action can be taken against you and you may also have to go to jail.

Passport pages

Indian passports are divided into two categories in terms of the number of pages. The first category has passports with 36 pages, while the second category has passports with 60 pages. During the immigration bureau check, all 36 or 60 pages should be available in your passport. If even a single page is missing from your passport, not only will your foreign travel get hindered, but you may also have to go to jail. People often do this to hide their travel history.

Arrival Departure Stamp

Apart from this, any kind of tampering with the departure and arrival immigration stamp on the passport can prove to be costly for you. You should not try to tamper with any stamp or visa sticker on your passport. If you do this, action can be taken against you under section 12 of the Passport Act.
