Police had reached the spot after receiving information about the theft incident in Ramgaon of NTPC police station area of Patna, the capital of Bihar, on Monday morning. Meanwhile, the gang of thieves started firing on the police. NTPC police station chief and a police officer narrowly escaped in this firing. Police have arrested two criminals in this case, while their other associates fled. Police are interrogating the arrested criminals.
According to the information, a gang of thieves was stealing government wires in Ramgaon of NTPC police station area of Patna early on Monday morning. It is being told that a female constable was passing through that route after finishing her night duty. As soon as the lady constable saw this act of thieves, she informed the NTPC police station chief. As soon as the information was received, the police station officials reached the spot with the force.
It is being told that as soon as the information about police reaching the spot was received, the gang of thieves started firing on the police. NTPC police station chief Dharmendra Kumar and Sub Inspector Alok Kumar narrowly escaped in this firing. Later the police chased away the criminals. Police have arrested two criminals in this. The arrested criminals are said to be minors.
While confirming the incident, Barh sub-divisional police officer Aparajita Lohan said that the police was chasing the criminals. During that time the criminals opened fire and hid in the middle of the field. He told that due to darkness, the police started cordoning off the criminals from all sides. Meanwhile, two criminals were arrested by the police, while their other associates somehow managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness. He said that the police also fired two bullets in retaliation. Police have seized five live cartridges, copper wires and mobile phones from the spot. Police are conducting raids in search of his other associates.
