On Thursday, near Khetalpura in Bihta, Patna, an uncontrolled truck crushed a mother and daughter who were crossing the road. The mother died on the spot in the accident, while the daughter was badly injured. They have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. After the incident, angry people blocked the Patna-Bihta road and protested fiercely. The protesters were demanding compensation for the family of the deceased. Bihta police station in-charge Rajkumar Pandey has confirmed the incident.
It is being told about the incident that Indravati Devi had left her house with her daughter Sarita Devi to go to Danapur from Khedalpura of Bihta. While she was crossing the road, a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction crushed both mother and daughter. It is being told that in this accident, mother Indravati Devi died on the spot, while daughter Sarita Devi was badly injured. After the incident, the truck driver fled leaving the truck on the spot. As soon as the news of the incident was received, people from nearby villages reached the spot and people completely blocked the Bihta Patna road. The people blocking the road were raising slogans against the administration.
The local people protested fiercely demanding compensation for the family of the deceased. The people nearby told that Indravati Devi’s husband Jagdev Rai had already died in a road accident. After the incident, the whole family was immersed in an atmosphere of grief. The police station in-charge said that the truck driver is being searched. After getting the information of the incident, the police reached the spot and pacified the people by convincing them. It is being told that after the incident, Indravati Devi’s son Kundan Kumar has lodged a written complaint of the incident in Bihta police station.
