Everyone’s mouth waters as soon as they hear the name of Khajuli among the local sweets of Ballia. This sweet made from flour and jaggery is the specialty of Ballia and is sent far and wide. 35 years of tradition
This Khajuli sweet is being prepared for the last 35 years at Sanjay Kumar Gupta’s shop located near Mall Godown intersection of Ballia. Sanjay Kumar told in a conversation with Local 18 that this sweet is very tasty and long lasting, hence its demand is continuously increasing. We make it available to customers at cheap prices, which is sold at ₹120 per kg.

Khajuli Sweet Recipe
The process of making this sweet is very simple but artistic. Sanjay explains that first of all layers are made by rubbing the flour thoroughly. Then these layers are fried in oil, due to which they swell. “After this, the sweet is prepared by dipping the fried layers in jaggery syrup.” The specialty of Khajuli sweet is that it tastes wonderful and does not spoil for a long time, due to which it can be easily made at home.
