Simranjit Singh/Shahjahanpur: Foreigners are also crazy about the lassi of Banaras in UP and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. But people also like the butter lassi of Shahid Nagri Shahjahanpur. People from Lucknow and Delhi come here to taste this lassi. This shop of butter lassi is located at Keruganj intersection. Govind Gupta, who prepares butter lassi in a special way, says that the taste is the one that makes one crazy.

Govind Gupta told that he started a shop named Shubh Diya Sweets in 2004. He has been selling butter lassi since the beginning. At that time, the price of a glass of lassi used to be Rs 7, which with rising inflation is being sold at Rs 55 per glass today.

Lassi is made cold without ice
Govind Gupta told that to prepare butter lassi, he takes 2 quintals of milk and boils it on low flame. After boiling it, it is cooled a little and then curd is prepared from it, then sugar is added to the curd as per taste and lassi is prepared from it. Ice is not used to cool the lassi. Lassi is cooled in a deep freezer. When the customer orders, lassi is taken out in a glass and a lot of butter is applied on it and Rooh Afza is added to it to give it flavour. Govind Gupta says that he does not use any kind of chemical in making lassi and the original taste is given to the customers.
