A case of assault on a Sikh student has come to light in Shri Teg Bahadur Khalsa College of Delhi University. During a clash with another group in a college here, some students beat up a Sikh student. Not only this, his turban was also forcibly removed.
A video of this incident is going viral on social media. After the video went viral on social media, it is being criticized. This incident took place on Saturday at Khalsa College of Delhi University.
According to the information received, this incident happened a few days before the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections to be held on September 27. In the alleged video of the incident, a student wearing a red turban is being dragged, kicked and beaten up.
During this, his turban fell on the ground. Police said that in this case an FIR has been registered in Maurice Nagar police station under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (BNS).
Police said second-year student Pavitra Singh Gujral said he was attacked during the nomination process for DUSU elections. “They forcibly removed my turban, beat me and pulled my kesh (hair). The group attacked me and I don’t feel safe in the college. I feel my life is in danger,” Singh said in the FIR.
