Producer Shailendra Singh has shared a video on Instagram. In this video, he told that Salman did not charge a huge amount for playing the role in the film Phir Milenge. He said- ‘Salman Khan charged 1 rupee for the film and he dies in the climax.’ After this, the producer praised the film Phir Milenge for spreading awareness about AIDS.

He said- Salman Khan is the biggest youth icon in Bollywood even then and even now. But imagine when Salman Khan was the Rambo of India, the superstar, convincing him to do a film that revolves around AIDS. In the story of this film, the lead actor becomes HIV positive and eventually dies. Many actors had refused this film and then later Salman Khan agreed to do it.
