Delhi Police Crime Branch has already questioned CM Gehlot’s OSD Lokesh Sharma thrice in connection with phone tapping. The Delhi High Court has so far stayed the arrest of Lokesh Sharma. Lokesh Sharma, OSD to CM Ashok Gehlot, has been called for questioning for the second time in a month by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police in the alleged phone tapping case of Rajasthan. Crime Branch has sent a notice for the 7th time and has called Lokesh to Delhi for questioning at 11 am on Monday, four days before the hearing in the Delhi High Court. Due to this, there is a possibility of increasing the difficulties of CM’s OSD. Sharma has earlier appeared before the Crime Branch thrice for lengthy questioning. In January, the Delhi Police submitted an application requesting the Delhi High Court to remove the interim relief from arrest granted to Lokesh Sharma, but the court upheld the interim relief.

Complaint registered in horse trading of MLAs

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat had lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police in the case of horse-trading of MLAs. In the year 2020, phone tapping went viral at the time of rebellion of former deputy CM Sachin Pilot faction. The audio clip of horse-trading of MLAs was released by Lokesh Sharma. For the time being, the High Court has upheld the ban on his arrest. The next hearing of the matter will be on March 24.

Earlier, Delhi Police had issued summons to Lokesh Sharma, OSD to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, asking him to appear before the Delhi Police on February 13 to record his statement in connection with the phone tapping case. Notice under Section 41(1) of CrPC is sent to Lokesh Sharma. Earlier the statement of Lokesh Sharma was recorded on December 6, 2021 and May 14, 2022.
