Gwalior. A controversy has come to light about Vice Chancellor Professor (Doctor) Arvind Kumar Shukla at Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University in Gwalior. In this dispute, a case of three children of Professor Shukla has come up, while a person with three children is considered unqualified for the post of Vice Chancellor as per the rule of Madhya Pradesh government. However, the claim of university management is somewhat different.
It was obtained under an RTI at Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University in Gwalior that Professor Shukla has three children. One of these children is born after January 2001, which is against the 2000 Gazette rules of the Madhya Pradesh government. Under this rule, a person with more than two children is considered unqualified for the post of Vice Chancellor. After this, various parties have disqualified him for the post of Vice Chancellor.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Shukla’s statement
Vice Chancellor Dr. Arvind Kumar Shukla said that he has never hidden his information. He mentioned his children in the overall id in 2011 and this information is already public. He also said that no affidavit was given by him.
University management approach
At the same time, the university management says that the Vice Chancellor is appointed by the Chancellor according to the change of the university and not on the basis of the rules of the state government. According to the rules of the university, the rules of the state government do not apply to the appointment of the Vice Chancellor, but action is taken according to the Act and Parinium of the University.
Vice Chancellor’s appointment process
The Vice Chancellor is appointed by the Chancellor from the panel recommended by the committee constituted under sub -section two. If the Chancellor does not appoint any of the recommended persons or no person accepts the appointment, then the Chancellor himself can appoint another person at the discretion.
